Band Boosters

The Henderson County Band Boosters are vital to the entire HC Band experience.  Some contribution from each parent allows these students to have life-chainging experiences.  Some parents contribute many hours a week, while others contribute a few hours a year, but it's the hard work of these folks that make the Henderson County Band one of the best in the state and it's the hard work of these folks that will make the Henderson County Band one of the best in the nation!

2009-2010 Committees

Hospitality / Band Camp – This committee will plan, gather food, organize servers, prepare, and serve meals or snacks.  This group will provide such services during band camp, before home football games, and marching season competitions (before and during competitions).  Additionally, this committee will make sure students have adequate water during band camp. Awards Reception – This committee will determine location, theme, decorations, and food selection for the May Band Banquet.  The boosters will plan, organize, and carry out a special year end awards program and reception for all band members with special recognition to graduating seniors.

Uniforms / Sewing – This committee will prepare to keep our band and guard uniforms looking great through laundering and care.  This group will coordinate the uniform fitting and ordering.  Additionally, they will help with sizing and lost and found. Photo Committee – This committee will provide photos as the band season progresses.  These photos will be used to update the band website and as added enjoyment at the year end banquet. Chair:  Sandi Mays  Phone:  860-5661 E-mail:  mays_family@hotmail.com

Pit Crew – This group makes sure that the necessary equipment hauling vehicles are always in place for each band trip throughout the year.  This crew will pack up instruments, food, drinks, guard equipment, and other needed items on the truck/trailer for transport to concerts and contests.  The crew leader will arrange the lease of necessary vehicles/trucks for all events. Student Transportation – This committee makes sure that the necessary school buses are in place for each band trip throughout the year.  Securing drivers and processing school-related paperwork with the Henderson County School Bus Garage is a responsibility of this committee. Guard / Winter Guard Committee – This committee is involved with ordering of uniforms, laundering uniforms, and building props as needed.  This group helps with sewing of flags and securing transportation for all fall events of winter guard. Fundraising

A.        Corporate Sponsorship / Patron Drive:  This committee aids the band by soliciting corporate donations for booster funds.  They help determine ways to recognize these donors and provide suggestions for possible contacts for donation.  Additionally, this committee organizes a patron drive involving the students, with the intent of soliciting members of the community for purposes of donations to the booster funds. B.         Fruit Sale – This committee will help facilitate and oversee the band’s fall fruit sale.  This group will be involved in encouraging student sales, collecting orders, handling money, and arranging volunteers for product distribution. C.        Scrips / Grocery Certificates – This committee will coordinate the grocery and Scrip orders on a weekly basis through Sureway, Schnucks, and Buy Low.  Additionally, this group will facilitate the Great Lakes Scrip Program. D.        Football Concessions – This committee will have responsibility for setting up and selling concessions at all home Henderson County High football games.  Additionally, this group will create teams of parents who will be scheduled on a rotating basis to work the concession stand from open to clean up. H.        BBQ Sale – This committee will organize the sale of BBQ ribs or dinners on two different occasions throughout the year.  The duties of this group will involve arranging a cooker, processing of orders, and distribution.
